Company Adds 20 New Manufacturing Jobs

FREEPORT (WIFR) -- Tri Star Metals, a manufacturing company, is adding 20 jobs at its Freeport facility. Tri Star Metals takes stainless steel and copper wire and turns it into a finished material, which is sold to companies to make springs and fasteners for the aerospace industry.

Tri Star is in the process of moving into a larger facility with new multimillion dollar machines. The company hopes the new machinery will allow them to expand their product line and add even more skilled jobs.

"We have about $10 million of new equipment that's coming in. We have a new copper coat line, and with that new line coming on stream we hope to add 20 more workers. If we have good luck in the economy, we hope to add additional workforce down the road? said President of Tri Star Metals, LLC, Jay Mandel.

Congressional Candidate Bobby Schilling stopped by the plant today. We'll hear more from him tonight at ten.
